2020 saw the cement tile look become increasingly popular, and we predict that will continue in 2021. This industrial-yet-warm style is very much the current look from Italy with quite a few factories creating their versions. They are modern yet timeless, practical, minimalist and sleek. Here’s a few we’d like to highlight:
Context is a rich and versatile interpretation of cement. This is a flooring and cladding collection inspired by the ancient tradition of surfaces, treated with an amalgam of marble, stone and terracotta fragments. The Context collection is available in five colours, three thicknesses, and five sizes.
Available in five shades, Polestar interprets the character of limestone with a cement feel. The surface structure, rich in soft-coloured micro-inserts, is reminiscent of the fossil world, lending a dynamic appearance. The beauty of this stone turns into innovative design solutions of great aesthetic impact.
If ground sedimentary rock and clay are mixed with sand and water, they form an extremely hard substance used since time-eternal to bond bricks and stones. It is also used to create blocks for load-bearing masonry constructions to support walls and foundations. It is this concept of the block as a solid and stable solution that has inspired Imola to design this new concrete version tile named Blox.
